Something Small
Glimmering in air,
In sunlight midair,
It scintillates in my palm and slips into my pocket,
It thumps against my thigh in my jacket’s pocket,
I travel through the urban streets,
Ah there it is,
Against all the other shops it beats,
The smell of roasting beans wafts through the air,
A shaft of sunlight gives the world an air or maddening beauty,
I swerve around the corner,
Then I come to a stop,
Someone has slept over the night here,
His eyes are tired,
Yet the same sunlight shines on his head,
He too can feel the sunlight,
My hand rummages through my pocket,
And produces a small piece of glowing sunshine,
I let it drop into his hands,
I see that he too can smile.
A Message in The Dark
A
message in the dark
Unraveling
fresh crimson blood
The
flesh our answer
Hair
and nails a clue
We
gather around cold fire
A life
at stake gives custom to our riddles
Obscene.
It is
who you know
People,
no Creatures in the dark
A
baneful existence,
yet we give you motivation to rage
yet we give you motivation to rage
Rage
against the coming of the night
A
classic rusty chainsaw
And an
axe to wedge in your back,
I slide
a knife from my sheath
I can
feel your pulse,
Rushing
rushing,
Dangerous
and thrilling,
It beats
louder and louder
A
devilish temptation
I run,
run, run, A flash of vibrant red
The
eyes are no longer mine
The
blade catches sunlight in the hands that are no longer
mine
Thump,
You are
no more,
Warm
copper rapture floods like tears...
Of joy
A Happy Ending
Hello, undoubtedly, you are death, are you not?
I cannot mistake that black ragged cloak of yours,
And your perfect timing; just when I was about to say
goodnight,
You look mighty un-fine today,
Actually, you look quite agitated,
Well, I guess that’s what happens when you witness too many
deaths,
Although, the rumors about you are starting to prove
themselves true,
Ah, what a fine day, I can’t see a single thing,
I wonder how the weather is like where I’m headed to right
now,
Does it have weather at all?
Where am I going to be sent anyways?
Well, that doesn’t matter I guess,
What was that?
Am I not scared?
Why, I’m not at all,
I’ve lived my life with no regrets,
I am a person who lives not in the past but the present and
future,
And I’m ready to go.
What I Am Chained to.
Hey, why can’t you wait?
Why must you go so quickly?
Because you walk so quickly,
There are people I am beginning to miss,
Things left incomplete,
The golden sun has set,
And I have lost many things,
Too many things,
But you won’t even let me go back
I’m leaving behind memories,
Some I don’t want to leave,
And some you have made me forget,
You have healed me some,
from incidents in the past,
and you’ve somewhat fixed my broken heart,
I am utterly befuddled,
I was stuck in mud,
But you wouldn’t wait,
Even in the present,
There are so many places to stop and reverie,
I’m confused with all the different directions,
I don’t even know where we’re going anymore,
And now I’m tired,
But you make me keep up,
You’re so hasty,
When can I get some rest?
“When time no longer matters”
Lemons
Ah, I’m so full,
Wrapper and napkins; remnants of my favorite muffin,
Sinking back into the corner of the booth,
A smile stretches across my face,
My stomach is on the verge of exploding, but I like it,
I look outside from under the cool shade ,
It’s sunny outside and just the same inside,
The perfect breeze carrying the scent of hyacinths,
And it waltzes with the leaves,
Small birds flutter with sunlight scintillating of their
backs,
My, look at the time, it flies so quickly,
I grimace as I walk under the sun’s rays,
The refulgent rays are all of a sudden too bright,
I stomp up the stairs and fumble with the house keys,
I kick off my shoes and open all the blinds,
In my room,
It’s waiting for me,
It’s waiting for me,
The sun shines gloomily on my desk,
I pile of papers waiting to be written on,
A pen to be gripped until midnight,
But I don’t mind today,
I’ll look forward to tomorrow,
I’ll look forward to tomorrow,
After all, I like lemons sour.
Eyes
The frog saw a man who had once been a wealthy business man,
And in the man’s eyes, he saw money
Off of the money did sunlight reflect and shine in a young
boy's eyes,
He picked up the small coin, and stuffed it in his pocket,
The coin reappeared and was exchanged for a small chocolate
bar at a candy shop.
The chocolate bar was divided into four, and a young girl
saw kindness in it,
The warmth radiated onto her mother, who raised an infant
without a father,
The woman baked a pie in an oven, which ended up in old, wrinkly
hands,
At midnight, a thief broke in and stole the pie away,
Away, he ran with it, and tripped on a stone,
The pie was flung on the ground, and was soon a mountain of
coal,
An ant picked up a generous piece and continued its long
journey back home,
Travelling near the urban area, tragedy fell upon the ant,
It was stepped on by a successful man who was happy with
life,
In his hand, he held a cage with a frog, who had seen many
things.

a loner,
kept everything bottled up,
a piece of hell inside of me,
I've smashed that bottle,
I wake up,
I'm still scared,
It's still a battle,
You need to tell someone.

audience: Victims
Message: You're not alone; I'm also going through the same. I'm still scared and alone, but I've made improvement. Tell someone!

Chapter 18
David, Petra, and Rosalind finally arrive at Zealand, and as they do so, their minds are engrossed in the stunningly different, modern technology in the Big City. On their arrival, they are registered into an opulent 5-star hotel featuring arcades, fancy buffets, spas, and much more beyond their expectations. The new telepaths were also introduced to other members of the Sealand community and were able to use their telepathic powers freely. They finally felt that they had found a place where they could be comfortable and developed a sense of belonging and family. But there was one thing that the new telepaths hadn’t even imagined; a scheme behind all the pretty wrapping paper.
The luxurious and interesting features were decoys set out to preoccupy David and Rosalind, and were working very effectively. While David and Rosalind were engrossed in leisure, Ashley, the Sealand woman, took Petra into a clandestine lab where she, along with other accomplices, tested Petra’s DNA; afterwards, Petra’s memory was be erased. This occurred simultaneously until Petra’s mysterious disappearances became obvious to David and Rosalind. Sensing that something was wrong, they tried to extract information from Petra, but she couldn’t remember anything. One day, David and Rosalind wander down the halls of a new floor which they find by coincidence. The hall then leads them to the secret lab where they eavesdrop on Ashley’s plan, which remains a puzzle throughout the chapter, when all of a sudden, they are caught spying on the capitol.
Fortunately, the man who had discovered them was Dnat, a kind and compassionate person who believed in the importance of multiple prospects. David and Rosalind learn that Dnat has different values and beliefs from Ashley although he is her right arm. He tells them about conservatism, and lack of free thought, and how the people who were not telepaths were looked down upon, even as to be treated inferior in the society of Sealand. Soon, the telepaths realize that Sealand wasn't a society of free thought as they had expected. As he explains, he also mentions a ludicrous logo called “No telepathy, No service.” David and Rosalind realize ironically, that Sea Land also had a “true image” which was exactly what they were trying to escape from.
Dnat quickly helps them escape from the hotel with a series of kerfuffles and complicated codes, he then guides them to his house basement, where they soon found themselves spewing ideas for a new, accepting, and diverse society. With the help of many other collaborators and Petra’s strong telepathic skills, Dnat, Rosalind, and David succeed in planting a new vision in peoples’ minds and they rebel against Ashley, the capitol. The capitol is easily taken down with the aid of the vast majority of the population. Dnat becomes voted as the next successor and rules the country effectively with the ideas of diversity and importance of free thought. The belief of one true image is abolished and many people from different regions came to Sealand to enjoy freedom. Later, David returns to Waknuk to take his grateful friend Michael, and Rachel. A few year later, David and Rosalind marry and have children that have very weak telepathy, which they don’t mind at all.

Sophie Wender
Although Sophie is very young, she is compassionate, adventurous, and strong both physically and mentally. When David asks Sophie whether she is in love with the spider-man, Sophie replies, “Oh, don’t call him that- please- we can’t any of us help being what we are. His name’s Gordon.(pg167)” Sophie’s answer shows compassion inside of her. Because she had also been mutated, Sophie understands what it is like to be isolated from society and lonely. Sophie also falls in love with the spider man, despite his unattractive long legs and arms. Sophie’s adventurous characteristics are revealed when she first meets David. Being a mutated child, Sophie never had the chance to mingle or socialize amongst other kids. Yet when she sees David sliding off of rocks, she immediately starts a conversation and inquires whether it is fun. Sophie also risks herself of being found out by helping David in his fight with Allan. After hitting Allan with a great stone, Sophie says “I hit him, do you think he’s dead?” quite proudly. Another great character trait of Sophie is her strength, which is not only physical but also mental. Sophie was burdened with a great deal of things since being born. Because she was mutated, Sophie grew up without friends and always had to be prepared for accidents that could lead to her exile. Sophie also grew up trying to make things easier for everyone because she knew that her mutated foot had caused her parents trouble. David suggested taking off her shoes, Sophie empathetically refused by saying, “No! No, I mustn’t.(pg12)” Sophie was a girl with a lot to deal with, yet she maintained a happy go lucky disposition during her stay in Waknuk.

As if shot by cupids bow, two ardent lovers emerge from two villain families, eager and passionate for each other’s love, willing to surmount all obstacles and deterrent… but will the Moirai look to this as a happy ending, or turn it into a tragedy…
Oh Juliet, this spring, how big my love is
When I first saw you, how big my love was
Like a mighty angel flexing its wings and filling the globe
As if mine eyes had been revealed to Gaia’s azure soul from the underworld
and my tongue, never having tasted honey,
craves for the elysian delight.
Young Abraham Cupid hath loost pink arrows at our swollen hearts
with agile and concise aim
Cloud-9 loomed above us and took us for a wild love ride,
Flew us to heaven where the stars paled against thine beauty,
To twinkle in their spheres until we returned.
Thou art in possession of divine beauty,
So divine, Venus looks upon thee with envious eyes
Like a white diamond amongst a mountain of coal
Athena’s wisdom palls when thou art speakest eloquent words
Thine eyes so profound, are binoculars staring into space,
It pulls me into a deep trance,
letting an hour pass within seconds,
Yet for my heart to leave thee,
Can love so bright ever be so cruel,
If only time would wait for us to have one last kiss,
My heart aches, and it would be better off dead,so I leave it with thee.
Albeit I shall look to the east and cherish in thy rays of warmth,
saturnine fog distorts my hopes,
A vague premonition imbues me with worries
and thou look’st pale tonight
Methinks I see us together in the bottom of a tomb;
Regardless, bright wings will take us to heaven.
Adieu, adieu, take good care of my heart.
